I’m down in Cambridge again… After two weeks of wonderful time off. I have to admit it’s a little hard to get going again. It’s nice to see folks down here again but I’m having to remember where I left everything. Hopefully it will all come back to me 🙂

Tonight is the end of each two weeks of very nice vacation. I didn’t go anywhere or do anything much. I was able to make a lot of things and hang out with my family… Two things I love doing
The day started when our new roommate Eliot made chocolate and cherry scones for us. We’re now calling them S’cohns (get it ?)
As a sign of my level of relaxation I’ve noticed I’ve started forgetting where I put my phone. It’s usually glued to one of my hands. Today I’ve missed placed it no fewer than four times.
I didn’t have it with me when I got invited over to Bens to work with Pelch, Bauer, Moyers, Newt and Arron On our entry for the Baltimore kinetic race in May

You’ll Have to imagine the pictures I would’ve taken of all the scribble designs on the backs of napkins… The derelict pontoon boat the guys bought from the state of Vermont, Ben and Tatiana’s Coq a Vin And bulgar, (I just take the Bulgar with mustard and cheese), birch sap to drink… And a bunch of middle-aged this guys laughing like kids about the crazy thing we’re going to build
Later in the afternoon Dan and I met up with John and Lauren and took all of our dogs for a ski right before sunset. It was cold and blowing but beautiful outside
OK… Tomorrow starts another year of work. I’m going to try to make it a good one

Our sweet younger dog Satori turns 11 today .
She is such a sweet and playful presence in our lives . She is still very much a puppy at heart . Her favorite thing is to play tug of war and chase with one of her stuffed hedgehogs (“hedgy”)!. She meets me at the door to play . Most mornings she wakes me up to scratch her chin . She adores her big sister Chai .. who patiently puts up with her energy

Gabe left this morning about 5:30 am .. heading back to 2nd semester of grad school ..

It was great seeing both boys over the break.. gabe leaving means we return to our normal-ish lives
Diane took advantage of the slow down to attach the cupboards. How much Indian picks and hot sauces do we really need ? Good news is she found our tofu press !
I had a full day of calls as i eased back into work.. I took a break and met up with our friend Reid who’s in VT visiting from Netherlands. He had a business making 3D printing filament with Nano diamonds . It’s an amazing material. Super strong and lift . He’s laden samstone for us out out it !
later tonight we had dinner with new roomy Eliot. He gave us a demo of the tool he bought for wire tying his maple sap lines . We had him demonstrate on a wad of kitchen utensils.. impressive!
Ok .. time for a weekend ! Gotta sleep
