Sunday night – ghost of Armonk ghosts

Hello from Armonk, Ibm’s corporate headquarters. I’m down in the learning Center which is now called the Lewis v Gerstner learning center. The name has changed… As have some of the people who work here, but it still my favorite hotel in the world. I don’t know exactly why… It’s a bit like a monastery. A short walk over to corporate headquarters… A big communal cafeteria… And small Monk like cells For sleeping. Perhaps I was in some sort of monastic order in a past life and that’s why it appeals to me.

It’s pretty empty tonight… And it reminds me of a time back in 2012 just before Christmas when I truly was the only person in one of the buildings. I was so sure of it I started knocking on doors… Not another soul. I Remember I called gabe and he suggested I make a ghost movie… Which is just what I did. I threw a sheet over my head (and nothing else)… And ran through the halls screaming… I caught most of it on my camera, but only this picture survives. It used to be behind the check-in counter… I don’t think it’s there anymore

Here’s the blog I wrote about it in 2012. http://johncohn.org/base/2012/02/27/monday-night-ghost-walking/

It’s fun to be here thinking about that many years later

Time for sleep now…

Nite all, nite Sam

  1. Lou Gerstner made IBM to be just like every other company, before him IBM was better.
