Saturday night – NQID

Spent the day working around the house getting ready for our trip. I’m excited to be off on another adventure.

We had a surprise visit from our neighbor and good friend Chris and Amanda and their new baby Oliver… It was the first time we ever seen him except on Facebook… It was so great hanging out with them

This afternoon we went and met our friends lauren, John and Deb at the Waterberry NQID ( not quite independence day) celebration. Waterbury always has their Fourth of July celebration about a week early. That make sure that every firetruck within 100 miles can be there. It was good fun. Waterbury is a much larger city then Richmond so the parade was much larger. We were there especially to see John and his mechanical friend George go in the parade…

There were many other cool things too

Ben & Jerry’s was there handing out free ice cream.. yum !

Duane and Laura were there driving for SunCommon… They ended up winning best float!

Bread and puppet was there which was a real treat

The parade was long and good… After that we went to John and Lawrence with Deb… And eventually with Duane and Laura… Nice dinner on the porch and great catching up

Now I’ve got to get some sleep or waking up around four to catch a plane. More from the road

Thursday night – Norwich

Busy day in Cambridge left mid afternoon so I could get to Norwich University in time for a Johnsonville show. This was for the governors Institute for engineering. I’ve been doing shows for them for as long as I can remember… Maybe 20 years?… There were 39 high school kids from all over Vermont and New Hampshire and a few other states. It had a week of building robots, wind generators,. And other cool stuff.

It was really fun getting the kids to volunteer… It wasn’t a particularly good static electricity day. The belt on my Van de Graaff snapped but luckily I had a spare

All the other demos worked well and we had a great time

Just got home at 11 PM. I have another show tomorrow… I better get some sleep

Nite all, nite sam
