Monday night- happy birthday Max !

Happy birthday to one of the most clever and creative people I’ve ever met… Our son Max is 31 today.

Diane and I woke up thinking about that moment when we became parents for the first time in 31 years ago today.

He’s such a good persona… kind , funny and literally able to make anything .I’m so proud to be his poppa . I love you Max !

Diane and I drove down to new York city this afternoon… I worked all the way down While Diane drove. I took over for just the last hour or so. I have to say the drive down was one of the easiest we’ve ever had.

We met up with her friend Sho around six and walked around for a bit.

It was good to catch up with him. We then had our first Thai food in six months post keto. We picked The restaurant Because it had Chai’s name in it.

It was great to re-introduce rice noodles and those yummy sauces

We then walked uptown to see Sho’s sanctuary – it’s an indoor jungle in his apartment

It really was amazing to think that we were on the 19th floor of a building in a big city… You almost expected monkeys

From there the three of us went around the corner where we met our old friend john s

Four of us had a drink before walking the 30 blocks back to the hotel. It was a beautiful night for walking

Check out this face the moon made in the sky

Ahh ‘home’ now

Much work to do tomorrow

Sunday night – Father’s Day

Well today thinking of my dad… And my father-in-law Gabe. Father’s Day is one of those days it brings you close to your parents and your kids.

Father’s Day could be pretty bittersweet for me… But these days it’s much more sweet

I’m thinking of all the dads out there… Hope you’re enjoying fatherhood as much as I do. I And so proud of my boys… And so happy to be there dad. It was great to talk to both of them today… Maks just sent me this. It’s a birthday, Reubens tube, theremin greeting.. that’s my boy !

We Spent the day around the house. Damn the dogs and I took a really nice hike up Honey Hollow. It was cool and foggy.

Later in the day we went to a very cool movie about a commune that had been In the building that is now the Mount Philo inn . My friend Dave G runs the place

It was a great crowd of similar aged Vermonters all with some sort of connection to communal living… It reminded me of when we had somebody roommates back in the early 80s… It’s kind of nice now having three new roommates in the house

Around seven we had about 30 folks over for a little block party. Our neighbors John, Josh and Ashley are all moving… Just across town thankfully… But we decided it was all great to get together and eat some ice cream.

Ok .. time for bed

Saturday night – carbs

Peaceful day at home… It started on a strange note… Some friends of mine needed a little special a fax. They had something they particularly need to burn up Dramatically… It’s not my story to share… But I will when they publish it…

Anyway I ended up stuffing 300 g of thermite into two objects and turning them into smoking rubble…

All in a days work

Towards the end of the day… Diane and I headed down to Douglas suites. There was a Grateful Dead cover band playing at a festival there. Deb had made lots of brownies and cookies to sell… They weren’t moving very fast so we decided to give them away. There’s nothing like going through a Grateful Dead show crowd with a bunch of free brownies. It was pretty awesome

We are slowly weaning ourselves from the keto diet we been on for six months. It’s been really fun. And I feel great… But it’s time to get back to eating normal food

In addition to tryingg a little bit of a brownie… I actually had My first beer in over six months…

Well it was fun to taste sweet and taste beer…Nothing compared to having to for sushi and six months. Yum

That one sushi dinner had more carbs in it then we would normally eat in a week.… And it was worth it
