I apologize Do anyone out there reading… But I’ve just come back from the longest gap in blogging in the last 10 years. I had a software issue with my blog that I just resolve this evening. I’ll do my best to fill-in for the last week.… I have to say I was kind of nice to be able to go to sleep without actually having to type anything… But I find my blog such an essential memory agent for me but I couldn’t Wait to get back to it
The most wonderful thing that happened today is that Diane and I saw these beautiful Pitcher plants Today on our walk…
Going to bed now but I’ll work on catching up over the last week soon
I had the most relaxing day. I was staying with my friends Brynn and Carl… Their house is so lovely and quiet. I was able to get so much work done there. They are such good and gracious friends
Now I am at the Van Zandt hotel… I’m going to be the keynote speaker for an event that my brother is part of tomorrow. I spent the evening getting to know the group… They are so wonderful… Smart and fun. Hope the talk goes OK
The big thing of interest is that the hotel is called “Van Zandt”… I understand it’s named after my favorite musician of all time… No really… Townes Van Zandt.
He was in americana singer in the 70s and 80s… He wants actually stole my beer and drink it in a club in Houston.
I didn’t believe that the place was named after him until I saw this
I had a great day today at the Sante Ventures event at the Van Zandt Hotel in Austin. My brother is a partner there and every year they have an meeting with all of their advisors. I was the keynote speaker today. It was so much fun meeting all of these smart medical innovators. It was also really wonderful to see Billy in his element. He’s obviously a central guy here and very much appreciated.
It was an amazing array of people including folks like Regina The former surgeon general of the United States
We all had fun playing with the Veremin and the Tesla coil
It was a very good day… Travel out was not that easy. Got caught in bad weather in Denver… Most flights were delayed
Now happily with Diane in Leavenworth Kansas… We’re here for our nephew Michael’s wedding tomorrow
More from there tomorrow
Nite all, nite Sam
-me
Ps . Not sure I put this on my blog last night… But I ran into Fred Amison from Portlandia in the elevator in the hotel… And he confirmed that indeed he did have a parent that worked at Ibm. That was pretty funny
Great day in Las Vegas. Woke at 5 am with pre stage fright .. for myself to the speaker checkin by 7 and was on stage at 8:45 and off the stage by 9:15 . Given the space it was a bit hard to gauge the audiences reaction but afterwards I could tell it had resonated very well . I spent the rest of the morning talking to folks about the message
I worked in to my talk that the first dac conference i remember going to always in 1993 .. 26!years ago. though I may have been there as early as 1989 . My last one was in 2005 . .. so 14 years ago but I still ran into so many people I know what is that say about the community… Or about me or about? Really good thing is that the conference had a very vital feel to it .you could tell that The energy was building and it was all about Doing hardware for artificial intelligence. My two loves combined 🙂
I’m in Austin now I’m going to be my brother tomorrow. We will be forward to seeing him and his friends
