Wednesday night – Telepicnic

Super busy day here in Cambridge… Meetings from 8 AM until about 10 PM… All good stuff. Lots of people in visiting so many fun contacts switches.

One Thing that was happening back in Vermont while I was here was a picnic at the generator to welcome my buddy Pol’s company Superplastic as members. Elliot had helped put on a falafel picnic. I was so bummed to have missed it… But luckily I was able to FaceTime in. Actually falafel over the phone is a lot easier to digest that the real thing

Welcome Superplastic friends!

Tuesday night – Holyoke

Woke up to a beautiful day on the Charles

Just back from a busy day out at Massachusetts green High-performance computing center and Holyoke Massachusetts. I’m helping to bring up our Citori processor and do a few benchmarks to see how it’s doing. It’s a fast computer and performing well. It’s so much fun to actually be able to work with this thing after thinking about it for so long. My friend Simon came out to help us with a few mechanical things

Tonight Chris, Simon and I had dinner with our mutual friends Rodney and Laurie… Simon is an IBM executive and Rodney is professional skateboarder…

So fun connecting friends from such different places.

I have an early day tomorrow… So I’m headed to sleep.

Monday night – Simon and Chris

I’m back down in Cambridge and have visitors from far away. Simon is here from San Francisco and Chris is here all the way from Brisbane. We had a productive day learning about each other’s work… Tonight I showed them around MIT. I took them on a pilgrimage to the site of my old dorm room which is now a park. What tour is complete without that?

Sunday night – Cleaning the corners

Very peaceful day around here. Anna was still with us for most of the day. We got outside and took another wonderful fall hike up Honey Hollow

After Anna left we spent the rest of the day “cleaning the corners”… We’re on a mission to try to D clutter the house some more as we close in for winter. We both cleaned out our dressers… Which was no small task. I collected more than $90 worth of change… Not to mention who knows how much in foreign coins.

It is interesting to see the pile of Conference badges that I’ve collected over the last many years . Kind of a cool record of a career spent on the road

Time to get ready for another week
