Tuesday night – perfect fall dayv

I’m adjusting my job to try to work every other week here in Vermont… As much as I miss what’s going on down in Cambridge… I love working from home. Perfect example is today. A perfect fall day. Started with a great walk with the dogs down to the river. It was cold but no frost

Bright and sunshiny

I was able to work up in the tower and look out over the mountains that are just passed peak foliage. At lunchtime Diane and Trail Rand Preston pond loop like we did yesterday. It was glorious… Looking down or looking up all you saw was color

ok .. time for bed

Monday night – Lebn zol Kokumbus

Happy Indigenous peoples Day everyone…This year for joined 10 other states to change the official celebration of Columbus Day to indigenous peoples day… It makes a lot of sense because how can we honor someone for “discover” a place where people have lived for thousands of years. Vermont has a proud indigenous population…… And I’m really glad that the state observation has been changed to reflect that

The only thing Aldous about Columbus Day is that it always makes me think of this song somewhere I learned… It’s a Yiddish song called “lebn zol Kolumbus” from the early 1900s… I think it was from Russia.Talking about how great it would be to live in America

I guess it is pretty great…

Sunday night – Happy birthday Chai !

Our girl Chai turns 16 years old today… I believe that’s 112 in dog years. She’s such a good girl. And has been one of the best friends I’ve ever had. She’s playful, affectionate and always a good companion … I’ve never met a sweeter dog… Or person for that matter

Her hips may be shaky but she can still out run us when she wants to.. It was great having Gabe here to help her mark the day…

We gave her a little birthday ice cream to celebrate… Ben & Jerry’s is the traditional birthday meal for 16-year-old dogs

Max got to FaceTime with her as I gave her some more birthday ice cream

Happy birthday Chai-baby !

We love you !
