Yesterday we felt like we were in the homestretch with Max and Becky’s house. We were able to get all the doors reinstalled, finish installation of the washer and dryer, and saw all of their thousands of tools. There’s still quite a bit to do on the outside and maybe we’ll get to some of that today. It’s been a wild ride. So much work to do… But now they have all the systems in the house working and it feels like home. We are very glad to be able to help Max and Becky do this… Just like we did with GabÉ
I do have some battle scars to show for this weeks work… Look at the backs of my knuckles. It’s a result of doing a bunch of honest work !
We decided to celebrate a little last night and went to 10,000 waves , A Nice hot pool place we go… Soaked in the hot tub’s jumped in the cold. Went in the sauna drink tea soaked her feet… Super relaxing. Then we went to Itsunami … The Japanese restaurant associated with 10,000 waves. It was unlike any Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been at… Not much fish. Lots of cool variety and great flavors. They are sucky fanatic so we had flights of different kinds of sake. It was really yummy
Today’s her last day here. Hoping to take it a little easier. I look forward to relaxing when I go back to work :-)
I spent the last two days at Max and Becky’s redoing all of their plumbing fixtures. Fix the kitchen sink, installed a new shower, replace the bathrrom sink fixtures, helped Max install the dishwasher, and Installed the washer and dryer with Max. I feel good about what we’ve accomplished together this last couple of weeks (Diane’s been out here over two weeks now!)… I think that now that they Can clean themselves, their dishes and the clothes… All systems are now working. What a ton of work. I think I’ve scanned every knuckle in the process. But it’s immensely satisfying.
We’re enjoying the mix of winter weather and sunshine very much. There still snow wherever the shade… Here’s a path we ran on yesterday
Today I’m helping organize their tools and Diane is going to be working in the yard. I’ll help later when I’m done
Max and Becky finished their last chores around the old house on Sibley Road… It’s out in the countryside about 18 miles from Santa Fe. It’s been a great place for them to live. Today we met them there around 6 o’clock to finish moving maxes meal, a bunch of tools, reinstall some screen doors, remove the Wi-Fi antenna and some other stuff. We also had a small bonfire to get rid of some stuff and just to mark the passing. It was really a nice exit.
It was a Beautiful night to say goodbye to this wonderful rental.
The moon and Venus are high in the sky
Max and Becky’s friend Pete helped us move all the rest of that stuff . We so appreciate his help!…
We went back to the new place on Cortez unpacked all of it while Diane went and got us some really good Mexican food. Mac made us a fire .. it really is starting to feel like a home!
It’s even more of a home now that I’ve been able to fix the kitchen sink’s and replace all of the guts of the shower… It was a much bigger job than I anticipated. The old one had been improperly installed… So removing it was a huge deal.
We’re exhausted now… This is a pretty high effort vacation for us!… It’s nice to be able to help out Max and Becky
Not much to report today. Diane and I worked all day helping Max and Becky get their new house in good shape . Lots of work to do. Today we Help unpack boxes, certain tools, install appliances, fix plumbing… I’ll satisfying and dirty work. It feels very good just getting out of the bath and laying down and clean bed.
