Friday night – art hop

Still glad it’s Friday… Tonight Was the start of the Burlington art hop. It’s an annual event where artist and craft people from all over the south end Come out to show their wares… There’s tons of art, crafts, food trucks, music and above all tons and tons of people. It’s where I get to see many of my friends that I haven’t seen all year… In this case it’s been two years and it felt so good. Running into so many friends. Dang it I parked at generator and First went to Bruce McDonald’s amazing shop and then into generator to see friends

Highlight of the night was Meeting up with a call from dad and his girlfriend Robin. Doug lived in our house before I bought it… That’s more than 40 years ago. It was so great meeting Robin too. She’s great

I lost track of how many friends we ran into tears it up but it was really great running into Sumner and his girlfriend. Sumner Diane and I were all wearing the same Sam necklace

Are we toured all of my favorite spots Generator, alternator, yolks shop,

One of our favorites were seeing my friend Brian’s wooden flute making shop in the alternator

In a stop at a and o glass

Then one more stop at Bruce McDonald’s… His work is so amazing

It’s all distressed stainless steel that he scratches up with special air tools… They have such depth it’s amazing it’s a like my friend Homer’s water paintings… But somehow different

Thursday night – potato forest

Long and busy day with lots of work and a nice mix of fun.… Still freaking out about all that I need to get done over the next couple of weeks but definitely super excited

Trying to think of anything I can report here… How about this… We went through and realize that we had a whole bunch of vegetables that we hadn’t eaten despite our good intentions. Diane found this great Sweet potatoes that has sprouted…… Check out this foliage !

Wednesday night (delayed) – freak out

gosh… I can’t remember anything that really happened on Wednesday… Other than I completely freaked out about work.… I guess I should start seeing this in my blog… But I am getting ready to retire and come back as a part timer. I have a whole bunch of stuff that I need to get finished so that I don’t leave anybody in the lurch… It’s got me totally freaked out and waking up in the middle of the night

At the same time it’s got me really excited

I realize I’ve never said that publicly before… Not the really exciting part but the retirement part

So there you have it

Anyway I’m definitely more excited than freaked out…

Tuesday night (Delayed) – woody’s

Tuesday was a very busy workday… After work I went down to see my friend Woody who are invited to friends Zach and Max who are the founders of hack club https://hackclub.com

It’s a worldwide organization that helps build student run hacker communities all over the world. It’s a really amazing project… And the more I learn about it the more I like it. It’s completely bottoms up… No tops down goals and programming and all of that other stuff that we tend to overload kids with.… Zach just organized a three week odyssey for 42 of the hat club members where they left Burlington Vermont got on the train in New York City went to Chicago on the train and then attached three rented Sleeper cars push the road to San Francisco and then down to SpaceX near LA. The whole time they did a giant hackathon to build up their own Internet on the train. It was a fascinating project and so well run. Woody was the camp counselor/entertainment… He had organized ton of great events including jugglers musicians etc.… It sounded so amazing. I really enjoy talking to Zach and Max about their plans for hat club… We had a whole lot of technology interest that we shared… And we share a common Love of mischief and play… Watch the space we’re going to do some fun stuff

I have to also say that Woody was such an amazing host. I’ve never seen his house… But he regularly runs musical events out of it… It has the most amazing seven… Check out the sunset from his porch
