Monday night (delayed) – shofar so good

Today was Rosh Hashanah… The start of the Jewish new year In one of the most holy days in our religion… We celebrated by getting on a plane at 8 o’clock in the morning (left home at 4:30 in the morning)… And flew home to Vermont. That puts you in a pretty contemplative mood. Seriously Rosh Hashanah isn’t something I take pretty seriously because I consider the previous year in the next year… And this is he here with big changes after a year of big changes after a year of big changes… Enough to make one extremely contemplative.

The flight back was uneventful and it was so wonderful to be back home

We mark the day by taking a nice long 7 mile hike up in Honey Hollow. You can already see the signs of fall

We end of the day with apples and honey for A sweet new year.

I hope it’s a sweet new year for all of us

Sunday night (Delayed) – Art day

Once again I’ve been slow to catch up on my blog… It’s a funny time to be getting lax on my blogging because so much is happening in our lives…

Anyway back to last Sunday. It was the day after mom and Billy’s birthday celebration… And we were all happy and tired… It was a slow day. Which was really nice. After a short run, ‘Diane and I met Max and Becky, Gabe and Sam And Becky’s parents George (a.k.a. uncle Becky) and Doreen. It was nice to have that time to meet Becky’s parents. I’ve known George from burning man and if we lived closer together we would be inseparable… He is a retired high energy physicist who likes making huge impractical technical art… He’s also an endurance athlete…What’s not to like? I’ve never met Doreen before but it was great to get to know her. She is a satellite scientist that does weather and pollution monitoring from space. It’s really easy to see where Becky gets her brains and energy when you meet her parents!

We took ‘George and Doreen over to meet my mom and some of the cousins which was fun

When they got into the elevator I took this picture and it reminded me of the last time I saw George which was with GabÉ in an elevator at about 3:30 in the morning right after Bernie man. George Driven S back to Reno to get flames… I remember I got on a 20 hour flight to go have dinner with the Prime Minister of Slovenia… I was still covered with Playa dust 🙂

Later in the day we all went out to the sculpture garden at the Walker Museum… It was so fun and beautiful…

We stop for ice cream on the way home and then went to a “fun” place called the punch bowl for dinner… It was all about bowling and darts and other things I don’t really like… But it was fun being out

It was the end of a great family weekend… So glad we all got together
