Rounding out the first week of my retirement… I got to say I think I’m busier than I was before I retired. I’m still trying to unwind old patterns and build some new ones…
speaking of new patterns.. Here’s a new pattern for the front of our house… It’s been decades since we’ve been able to properly paint the Cupolla and metal flashings of our house… I just happen to catch yesterdays work on the camera we have on the house… ‘Kyle says it looks like putting lipstick on the house… We love the way it looks… This is the way it looked like when we bought it back in 1981
i keep trying to remember that i’m retired! we took advantage of a gap in my meetings today to climb bolton for a look at the colors .. it’s pretty dull down here but as soon as we turned up the mountain road it was so beautiful !
Speaking of fall colors… We’re getting the Cupolla and awnings finally painted the right color brand. Last time they were painted the paint didn’t really last so it’s been kind of a doll orange. We’re trying to restore to the colors but we’ve painted it most often over the last 40 years… It’s a shock but it’s so beautiful
It’s interesting this partial retirement… I’ve got more stuff in my days not less.… It started early with a workout and a run with ‘Diane… The painters are here working on painting the tower of our house. It’s fun to see them work that lift
Mid day after a mix of Ibm at nine I’ll be in meetings I headed to her friend Deb’s bakery to check out her shelving. I’m reworking my lab and wanted to get some ideas from her… It’s such a welcome place
Mid afternoon I was back at Beto… We’re doing some filming there and our chief Kyle was in “hair and make up”. Does it brought back memories of TV for me
You got a love a place that has drinks like this
Rebar and I took a walk around the new building
It’s gonna be pretty amazing do you like that one day ended with Yoga and soup. The theme of yoga tonight was paradoxes
I plan for retirement is busy I’m staying on it IBM is a Fellow Emeritus working on education outreach initiatives… That’ll be one day a week…I’m super excited about being able to stay on like that at IBM because I have such tight ties to the people and organizations… I really wanna make sure that IBM technology continues to be fun and compelling to the rest of the world… In the same vein I’m also going to be contracting to a local company… Beta technologies a few days a week . beta makes electric vertical takeoff and landing airplanes
i’m going to do a project to create science demos for kids.… Talk about the science behind flight.I had my first official day at beta today . It’s only the second first day of work I’ve ever had… The last one was a 1981. Here’s my cohort of new hires…
