Sunday night – tromping

I am and I can’t get enough of this nice snow we have. We’ve been out snowshoeing in it as much as we can. Today we took a couple of hours I’ve been Honey Hollow… We’re trying to find a path from the Honey in Hollow Road up to robins Mountain. We found a really nice line to traverse it was super beautiful. Even way up there in the hills we found signs of old farms… Stone fences at old Barbwire being swallowed by trees

Later in the day we went snowshoeing again With her good friends Tim and Jen and their friend Darell.… We’re spending as much time as we can with him and Jen… It’s only been a couple of months since Marie died… I think outside is very healing for them… It certainly was for us. We really enjoyed snowshoeing around the huge beautiful field behind their house.

Nice weekend… Getting cold again tonight.

Saturday night – Oxbow

I actually woke up this morning at around 1030. I cannot think of a time where I’ve actually gone to bed at a normal hour and woken up that late. It was amazing.

I’m glad I slept a little late. Last night was pretty cold… -19 F (-28 C).

By about noon it was getting close to zero… So we decided to go out and enjoy the snow.… We drove up the bolton Notch Road with an intent to walk back home over duck Brook. But so many people had gone through there that you hardly needed snowshoes As the snow was so packed.

Instead we walked across the path and up the vast snowmobile trails. They hadn’t been used so there was a good 18 inches of snow… It was a steep climb with beautiful sunshine and weather in the low teens. Perfect day to be outdoors.

We came around a turn on this and use trail and we’re very surprised to see an ancient T bar

ski lift sitting in the forest.

It obviously type in used for a long time. I knew immediately what we were looking at. It was the relics of the old oxbow ski area which operated briefly around 1971 in the area. The lift was falling apart but still had T bars hanging from a wire. It was so cool!

On the way down it was deep enough for us to use our “butt sleds” They’re easy to carry even wen backpacking

Super fun day… Ended up with Chinese takeout. A real treat these days

friday night – sceince or science ?

I managed to spend the entire day working in the final set up of my shop… It’s looking really good… But I still have a days worth of work cleaning up the mess outside.… One thing I am proud of is that I successfully labeled all of the boxes and drawers in there… I’ve always had a good labeling system this is 10 times what I had before. Hopefully it will help me keep organized.…

One challenge… I had to write all of those things and those of you who have been reading this blog for a while now that I have pretty dyslexic spelling. Do these two things look different to you? They don’t to me

I hope I kept the right one :-)
