I’m SO glad we moved our flight.. There is no way I could have flown today.. I still had  fever , cough, sore throat and chills.. but I felt a little bit better. I spent the day on the couch just hanging out.. and being grateful I wasn’t on a plane ! ,,

By the end of the day I realized there was no way I was going to be ready to fly tomorrow.. so I changed our flights yet again (plan 4 ?) to go back on Friday.. Thats a bummer because I’m going to miss the opening of the ai art show my friend Chris has put together it’s called “Co-Created: The Artist in the Age of Intelligent Machines”.  I know it’s going to be really great. Check it out !

So.. the current modified plan (Plan 2) was for me and diane to head back to Vermont on Wednesday..   As Tuesday went on I began to realize I was still too sick to be on a plane with other people.  No one ones to sit next to someone who’s shivering and coughing on a plane..   So we pushed our flights out another day.. to Thursday now 

We decided that after Diane had already made me a my favorite (!!!!) birthday cake.. APPLE  CAKE !  So we decided to go ahead and have birthday celebration number 1.    We had  Indian take out (which I couldn’t taste at all.. so weird !).. and then came the cake and ice cream !  (Even Nova had ice cream) . 

Thanks to my wonderful family.. I had a great covid birthday I !

To be honest.. I’m writing this from the comfortable distance of 4 days.  By Monday evening I was feeling pretty sick. After nearly 3 years of thinking about Covid… I finally got to experience it.. and it wasn’t fun. I would say I had a moderate case… I had high fever, chills, sore throat and cough…and  I completely loss my sense of taste. If it wasn’t so yucky.. i’d say it was pretty interesting. I was kinda zoned out most of the day.. but Diane, Gabe a  (and nova and sequoia)  took really good care of me. Sam was still sick.. but feeling a little better today ..   

Thanks to help from my friends back in VT I was able to get a script for  the antiviral paxlovid , I dont know if it helped.. but it was sure fun reading the small novel it came with regarding precautions. 

I spent the day pretty pleasantly spacing out.. .. looking at all the stuff I could see from the bed or the couch. Loved these two pics. ..

By the end of the evening last night.. I wasn’t feeling that great.. in hind sight I noticed my food was tasting kinda weird. I woke this morning with a sore throat… and pretty much knew what was up. I took a covid test.. 

I finally had covid.. after not getting it for the last 2 and a half years it sort of felt like a relief to have it (almost) behind me. 

I felt a little creepy.. but not so bad  I couldn’t hike. We took a really nice and muddy walk at the 1000 acre dog park.   Gabe used it as a chance to collect some icky water samples to look at under the microscope

Only bummer of having covid is that I cant go visit my mom and sister tomorrow as planned. We’re going to stay here a few more days then travel straight back to Burlington.  I’ll have to reschedule my trip to go see them soon
