I woke up and realized that I began working at IBM 42 years ago this day.. I can still remember going in to work on that first day wearing a sweater.. in August !!! What a long strange trip its been !
Spent the day celebrating by working on the house with Diane. Cleaning always involves some interesting heartstring moments… Today wasn’t bad.. .. What to do with this workbench that all three boys began their ‘maker’ experiences… Too much love and skill in there to through it away.. guess we’ll keep it !
We are in full prep mode for the Clarks party on the 4th.> Today was our second dry run on mounting and wiring clouds. Each time we learn something and get better at putting the thing together !
Mid afternoon Wiki and Shawnsy brought AJ in. AJ is part of Zeno Mountain farm and is a really cool guy. He gave Fluffy’s wheel chair lift a try !
Today is Aug first and I officially start my ‘John-battical’ Its an idea i’m borrowing from my freind Ben who coined the name of his pause as a ‘Benbattical”.) We’ve got so many great things going in our life right now.. fluffy, italy trip, my moms birthday and kids visiting that I need to step back from work a little. With the blessings of my boss Katie, I’m going down to about a day a week of work (from a 3 day a week normal).. It feels kinda strange to be stepping back like that when there are so many things calling me from work.. but there are always things pulling at us.. and my sanity is worth it 🙂
We’ve recently reconnected with our old freind Rachael who’s moved back to VT from Colorado.. We’ve known her for nearly 30 years. Now she has a beutiful kid named Jovian (JoJo).. she (sand he) are such fireballs of energy. and ideas. its so fun to hang out with her.
