We’re starting to get in the main work of re-doing the clouds for the burnoing man fluffy bis. One of the main things we’re doing is upgrading them mechanically and electrically to (hopefully) be easier to set up and more robust. Fingers crossed. One of the things I did to improve the process is to build a tester that allows us to test individual clouds . today we did some work to inspect and test the clouds.
It was so nice to see them light up again !

Began with watching some hummingbirds at the feeder. The birds actually recognize Diane and stare at her when the feeder is empty 🙂
After a good day at work, Diane and I headed to Stone Coral to meet up with We met up with Hannah ,Olivier and Deb. for Open Mike night. Our friend Gary presides over the festivities.. And our friends Nate and Avery were gonna play. I think the last time i really heard Avery play on stage was at Sam’s memorial … when she and our friend Jane played Keepsake by State Radio
Nate is about to head out for a 3 month research boat trip as a video editor. I lent him my guitar for the night.. but he says he doesn’t have room in his bunk to take a guitar with him.
Avery and Nate did the only practice they’ve ever done in the parking lot. Nate had a banjo too.
it sounded as thought they’d played together forever..
It was such a gift to be able to hear them.. good friends !

Today is fathers day .. Thinking of my dad.. what a great guy

I love being a dad.. our two boys are doing so well. Being part of their lives is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.
It was extra special having Gabe here with me to mark the day !

Of course the day is bittersweet.. I miss Sam so much every day.. on days like this it hurts.. not more, but maybe a little differently. . I dont cry often anymore.. but I did today.
Diane made me a wonderful apple cake (my fav !) to mark the day.
We did a quick bolton hike to mark the day.. it was cool and drizzly.. kinda mystical !
Mason and Abbot came over to say Hi…. which was nice.. they feel like extended family to us.
I found a smoke bomb and set it off in the yard.. by myself… or maybe for for me and sam.. I watched the smoke dissipate.. made me feel better somehow .
The best fathers day present was getting to help Gabe build a “plasma gun” for Jacks wedding. We had to do alot of trial and error whcih was fun … Our friend Sumner helped !
Now thats a fun way to end a day !

Today is Max’s 35th birthday. I’m so proud to be his Poppa.. he’s so smart and creative and kind. I love the way he lives his life..

We’re are also so excited that he and Becky are engaged. Becky’s already become part of our family…
Max and Becky are out camping today in honor of Max’s birthday so we couldn’t talk to him.. So we celebrated for hm remotely. Diane wore here favorite Max shirt !
Next order of business was to get Gabe to the Tux rental place for his fitting. He looked so great !
Today was also Mason and Abbot’s annual solstice burn. It had been raining.. but they still managed to build a great spaceship and keep it dry.
then came time for fire !
