Thursday night – Down to MIT

Around noon I got in the car and started the drive down to Cambridge. Some  BETA work freindsand I are goign to an NAE/MIT symposium on AI together.. I took advantage of that to go down  little early to attend my freind and collaborator Dimple’s PhD defense.  ,,   and to meet wiht soem other friends at MIT..

I visited the student center and. saw the first place I ever donated blood (and fainted when I jumped up to help an ‘old’ guy ( who was probebly 50 🙂

I wandered over to the place where my beloved bexeley dorm was …. it’s now a parl  I try tp put a samstone there when ver im on campus

I love being back on campus.. I made my way to Bldg 34 for Dimples defence. SHe’s a student of my ffirend Anatha’s she’s done soem nice work in the intersection of AI and analog circuit design. MIT IBM fundeded her work..a dn we’ve written a couple of papers togheer. (he did al the work 🙂

she did a really nice shout out to all her sponsoer, and collaboerators including Matriey .. another collaborator of ours , her collegues, her family and her husband. .. who just defended a couple of weeks ago on the west coast !

then that anxious 5 minustes while the committee debats..

then like that ..  we met dr ,.Kochar

After that I met up with my collaborater Seyschelle.. whos a prof in Biochemistry.. and actualy colaborates with Prof Martin iler, Gabe’s PI in Germany

and her beutiful dog Boltzmann !

Then I met with my good freind Chris.. he and I built the Satori supercomputer togeher.. we managed to make Satori the worlds 4th (of 500 !)  most energy efficient supercomputer in the 2019 Green 500 !

From there, I zoomed back to the student center to meet up with my friend Anika… shes my close freinds Ruchir and Rashi’s youngest daughter. I’m having dinner with their oldest daughter Eesha tonight along with my friends, Akash and Erica… But Annika can’t make it cause she’s just about to graduate… So I met her and we took a walk… I walked her over to where my old dorm Bexley was, and I showed her where my room would’ve been, and I showed her the samstone i’d just placed there. It was really great catching up with her. I’ve known her since she was a little girl… Now she’s just this incredibly powerful technical woman.… I can tell she’s so excited to graduate.

Then I ran completely back across campus to meet up with my friend David… He’s a pro professor in Aeronautics and also a great history of science guy… We’ve got to be really good friends. The place we were gonna meet was closed so we went next-door to another small bar. He’s working on a really cool history of electricity book… And I hope to help him in someway. He’s just a fascinating guy.

From there, I caught an Uber to Akash and Erica’s house in Cambridge. They had some delicious takeout Italian food and we just sat around and talked and played with their dog Ledoux and later on our friend Isha, Ruchir and Rashi’s  daughter and Anika’s sister

It was so great hanging out… And only that but Akash got me started on some software that he’s written which I really like… It’s called the agent factory and it is really amazing to use… It’s a harness around Claude. I’ll write more about it later.

I was getting late, so Isha and I grabbed an Uber. We droppedIsha near MIT and I headed of to my hotel

Super nice to be back in Cambridge  !

nite all, nite sam
