I woke up to the sound of diane and linda laughing… its such a nice sound.. makes me smile just thinking of it. . when they are togethere.. they are usually laughing. 

Both linda and david are good story tellers.. this morning linda was telling us about goign to visit her grandfateher in the nursing home.. he was from soemwhere in the old country and he kept saying soemthignn that sounded like “kincust me nootah’ whench she thoguht meant/ kiss my butt.. 

That sent us on a an exploration to see if we could figure out what language it was, and what he was really saying… ChatGPT can be useful for all sorts of things… The best I could come up with, though is Yiddish… Which I sorta can understand because it’s mostly German with a New York accent… And that was’kuss mir in tuchas’ . But her grandfather was either check or Italian or something else so he wouldn’t have been speaking Yiddish… So the mystery continues

Mid morning the girls went off for a hike with the neighbors dog oaklee , and Dave and I went to the north end to hhelp get fluffy ready for plex fest tonight.  

we werent using fire, so no need to put up the  mast or check out the profile. our main goals were to test the lights and teh sound system.. 

Pleax is a scrappy little festival.. lots of cool art and music all packed in to a tiny block.. or actually less than a block.   The festival is anchored by Juntique.. a very interesting antique/knickknack shop and this old building that was once  a brake repair place .. both building are stuffed with interesting junque 

one goal today was to see if we could run lights and sound without running the genny.. its not as simple as it sounds. our genny is 10KW .. and while we usually dont use all of that capacity  we use quite a bit of it. Experience has taught me that you cant run both sides if the bus’s ights on less thn 3KW. .. which is almost 2 full 115 15 A circuits.. the sound sysytem alsu uses about a KW..  so unnign without the ginny meant finding 3 15a 115V ac circuits.. which we did with the help of the pleax organizers.. its so nice not to have the noise or smell of the geny !

we had a fair number of people there helpign with setup .. Rebar (of course )  Wiki, Marie, Lefty and firefly.. so things went pretty quick !

David and I used the down time to check out the jnk shops.. including juntique. and a place called Milk Moth whcih is in the old orthodox synagogue !

this place is so interesting. it had teh upstairs which would have been used for women ibservers.. (orthodox are pretty mysogynistic)   and even the bathrooms tat were labeeld in yiddishl… this says Manner .. ie men

the festival didn’t open until much later.. but we hung aroudn for a bit.. then went  and met the girls for a walk around burlington . 

then burlington for dinner on the water.
