Wednesday night – Garmish – P

Today Diane and I packed the rental car and headed soth abotu 4 hours to the Town(s) pf Garamish-Partenkirchen/ It is a place int he Bavarian alps that s so beutifu and picturesque.. that half to the people ain germany want to be there this week 🙂

Its really a beutiful place.. thas crowded because it is so beutiful and the german school vacations are now .

We learned that the town used to be 2 disincttowns one called Garamish and one called Partenkirchen .. then Adolph Hitler commanded them to combine .. i think.. to fascilitate thte 1938 olympics that germany hosted..

it must have been so weird..

Anyway.. they are pretty erged these days ans collecitvly are called Garamish-P or just GAP

We checkiedn into our AirBNB. we’d had trouble finding an afordable place . now I understand that it was bacuse this is the busiest season. THe place is nice.. but right on the main street of GAP. whcih truerns out to be super busy 24 hours a day.. that was a bit of an issue because we had to have all wundows wide open due to the heat.. it was near 90 during two of the days.. and the nights were coller but very still ..

all that sai,d, it was a nice place to be able to walk from..

That first night we took nova on a walk to the nearest green spot we could find on a map.. that wasnt far away.. since GAP lives ina. narrw steep valley ebtween ragged mountains.. We quickly foudn a gorgeous trail that took us genetly up the side of one of those montains.. we eventually  foudn ou  way to a wonderfull beargarden/resturant with ana amazing view and fantastic food. THe place was called Tannenhutte and turns out It was on both Gabe’s and Laura’s ‘recommended’ lists.. and it was a total coincidence that wwe stumbled on ti it.. about an hour and a half  into our hike

after dinner we came down to the partinkirchen part of f GAP. it was defintely cuter.. we loved walkign through the towns.. it was touristy.. but in a very beutiful way..

as we came close to our Airbnb.. we checked out a science oddity store that Gabe and Mya had seen during their visit here a few months back . The place, whcih wa almost across the street from our pace,  had all sorts of cool things. a wimshurst machine, a bunch of steam engines,. ancient recording equipment. it was so cool.. but during our stay w never saw it open. or anyone inside.. no signs at all that it had ever been open for business/

this really is a nice place.. so great to be here with diane and nova !

oit feels liek a real vacation.. there’s no work, no porjects.. just hiking and hugging 🙂

note all. nite sam
