This morning I learned that our good friend Sue Murfet passed away yesterday from cancer. She and her husband Phil have been good friends of ours since the early 80’s. They live in King’s Sombourne in England. Phil and I worked together closely for nearly a decade.. In the early 80’s Sue and Phil lived in Vermont… A couple of years after they moved back to the UK, DIane and I moved near them . THey were like our big brother and sister.. they introduced us to their friends. showed us their pubs and even lent us their cars (I remember driving 30 miles on the freeway before I found out that Phil’s car had a 4th gear). Sue was always so warm and welcoming.. she had a mischievous smile and a great sense of style.. she was always asking me when I was going to marry Diane 🙂
The last time I think I saw Sue was in 1994. Sue and Phil swapped houses with us fror 3 weeks.. Sam turned 2 in their house in england.. while Phil and Sue took care of our crazy house. We actually managed to see them in Heathrow airport for 20 minutes as we made the swap…
No wait, Diane just reminded me that we saw Sue and Phil last an IBM event (CTRE) .. maybe 3 years ago. We’ll always remember her wonderful smile
Sue. we’ll miss you. Phil, Harry. Charlie and Alice, you’re in our hearts..
Gnite all, gnite Sam
