Firday night – cougar burn

Very cool eveong. Gabe got Chris to build a wooden Cougar for MMU’s homecoming bonfire tonight. Chris did an amazingjob as usual !. this thing looked so life like !

Gabe and chris loaded it on Chris’s dad’s truck with a forklift and took it to the school . Then they mounted it to the chaky platform that was waiting for..

A bit later we all came back and I helped them load it with fireworks..

It wasnt anywhere near dark when the burn started.. some kids came up with flaming torches and touched it to the fuse in the beasts front left paw.

After a while the flame finally reached the body..

Pretty soon it was burning well

it was such a beautiful day for pyromania !

chris , kim and gabe sat quietly while thecreation did its job

eventually the head dipped..

soon it was just a pile of flame.. so beautiful

diane and I stayed for a bt.. then we stopped by Chris and kims for a beer and a little fire spinning.. I managed to take all the hair of my right hand and wrist by walking forward at the as I flashed the sword. you live and learn 🙂

OK.. gotta sleep now.. More tomorrow !

thursday night – chairman

Man.. i went from 100 mph to zero in only 24 hours.. After a whirlwind 4 days i spent this entire day sitting in my chair. Other than a short run with diane and dinner .. i think i only got up to pace on phone calls. .. .. I think I saw only 7 people today and tow of them only think they’re people.. What a contrast from the last few days of meetings. I really enjoyed the quiet and the ability to work uninterrupted. I like this mix of working at home and face to face meetings.

hmm.. not easy to make news from an intensely uninteresting but peaceful day..

Oh.. i wanted to share this video I saw at the meeting…. pretty amazing

Wednesday night – ALT

Hanging out at Laguardia on my way back to BTV after a good set of meetings down here in NY. I 2 days with the fellows and one day. today, with the Academy Leadership team.. Thats the 100 folks that form the core of the IBM Academy. It was great seeing all these folks..and even greater getting to work with them.. Face to face events like this restore old ties and make new ones…

Todays hilight was a very good conversation lead by our CEO Ginni R. She gave a really good overview about the state of the company and the things she wanted the academy to be working on. I was psyched that she called out a project that i’m working on with colleagues in the Netherlands .. (She also told me I could use a hairband 🙂 .. Here she is with the Acacemy pres and my buddy Rashik.

We first heard from my good friend (and now boss) bernie

Then from friend Susan.. who took over the academy when bernie came to my group (she’s awesome !)

My freinds Bob, george . Mark and I gave a panel discussion on ‘productive misbehavior’;.. (or at least thats what I chose to concentrate on 🙂

Tuesday night – old friends

Not much to report here because spent the entire day in work meetings here in Armonk. Really good getting together with my friends in the fellows and Academy community. I got more day job work done here In one day face-to-face that I sometimes get done in a week of telephone conversations. Couple of the conversations were during long fast walks outside in the beautiful weather. It doesn't get better than that.

I really enjoy spirited debate among my friends… You know you're good friends when you can disagree energetically and still be smiling!
