Tonight I did my 4th Jolts and Volts show of the year. It feels good to be back in that practice.
Tonight show was for the Technology and Design Governors Institute of VT (GIV). I’ve done this show for many years .. Its run by my friends Shannon and Robin.. Great students.. and many of them are kids of my friends.
Our friend FInn has been staying with us for the last several days as his mom Marcie recovers from Hip replacement surgery. It’s been so fun having him around. We’ve been eating fun stuff like home made cakes and fire cooked girlled cheese.
Today we held an event with the Betakids.. aka kids of employees. We were testing out soem hands on exerises that we will do with orginzations like schools and places like King Street. We had Jeremy with the Toolbus there helping the kids cut out wooden badges. We then helped them solder together a battery and a blinking LED to allow each kid to make a cool blinking badge with their name on it. We also had activities around conductive playdoh . We had about 30 kids.. . It was fun and we learned lots of ways to make future events even better. It was great to have Finn and DIane there to participate and help out !
Canadian fires are still filling our air with smoke.. .. you could see it in the sunset
Exiting day at work today. Our friend Jeremey brought his amazing tool bus to Beta for a practice session. Made it helped Jérémy outfit bus with every sort of maker, tool… CNC mills, a laser, cutter, 3-D, printers, welders, handtools, even a robot that could give tattoos. We were practicing for a beta kids event that we were having later in the week. It’s so fun working with Jérémy. Bunch of people at work got robotic, tattoos. Not for me though… My only tattoo is on my tooth.
