Tuesday night – Like math .. but…

I had a pretty quiet day today.. spent most of the day working in the tower.. so not much to report on from  the outside world.   One thing that did show up in my inbox was this great cartoon (Thanks David !)..

I love the message : ‘Engineering.. it’s like Math.. but Louder !’

This is showing up at a good time for me.. I’m trying to rework my life’s mission..   Can’t say I’ve ever formally tried to write it down. I’ve even had some kind and insightful  folks offer to help me do it..

My resume has this as a goal :

Share my love of science with others and have

fun doing it.

My Bio says:

(I am) eager to share my love of science and engineering with
anyone who will

listen.

Is that getting close to a mission statement ? Any suggestions ?

Saturday afternoon – milestones

After the last few weeks of sweet and bittersweet milestones:.. birthdays and memorial birthdays, graduations and would be graduations, friends coming and leaving.. I’m happy to announce some much less weighty milestones.

First, our trusty black van turned 130,000 miles just as I was leaving the parking lot on Thursday afternoon. It had been a tough day.. catching this change seemed to me to be a good omen

Then .. this blog got it’s 400,000 read just as I happened to look sometime Thursday evening. Again.. I was amazed that I happened to look at just the right moment..

Then.. this morning.. I checked my Facebook to find just the moment I hit 2000 Facebook friends..   also .. a weird but fun time alignment.

I know others may find it odd.. but I find catching such coincidental moments of synchronize exciting.. and full of… i don’t now .. meaning ? luck ? potential  ?

Anyway.. wanted to share that..

Everyone check their odometers….
