Todays big event was a hike on Coyote Wall in teh Colmbia gorge. We were goign out to see the wildeflowers that are now in full bloom on some parts of the gorge. Oour good freind Bridget is now living in Portland.. so we invited her and her dog tony along..

It was a nice hour and a half or so drive out.. bast multunomah falls a

Coyote falls is on the Washington side of the gorge.. The parkign lot was nearly full.. but we were able to find one of the last spaces. 

It was a nice stepp uphill that is covered in small brush and is often  used by mountain bikes.  The hike up had many great views !

 

 

Pretty soon we started to see floweres.. and it got only more beutiful from there !

 

One the way down we ran into Mel and soem of her freinds Nova saw Mel first and made a beeline for her (Mel is one of her favorite people !)

 

Gabe stopped to pick up soem scummy water for his microscopic looking

 

We were starving when we got down.. so we stopped at our favorite fish and chips palce on the way home near the bridge of the gods

 

We got home .. and gabe showed us the changing of his rock grindr.. pretty cool seeing the intermediate steps

 

THen one more simple meal out ..   and a goodbye to nova

then we finsihed watching oppenheimer.. .. such a great..(and long movie !

Today we hung out around portland.. Startig with a great bunch at a biscuit place… so yummy

Then a quick stop at a very trendy pet treat store.. check ut the menu

 

then home for a. little stretching. Nova can never be further tha a foot from diane when we’re here !

High point of the day was visiting Tucker, Hailey and their new son Winslow    Haileys mom was in town too. Tucker’s an old freind from VT. so great seeing him whnever we’re here

 

We gave WInslow a tortise puppet.. because in the story of the tortise and the hare.. the tortise “wins slow” .. get it ?

Today we ran errands  oincluding a stop at Costco to refuel gabes house.. Who knew that Costco had Durian ? If you havent tried Durian, you should.. It tastes great and smells so bad it makes you gag.. Hows that for a sales pitch ? 

next stop was a stop at the dump to drop stuff off. I always like visiting here.. it puts me off consumerism for a couple of days !

Final stop for the night was goign with Sean and Mel to a new hot (as in poppular) Indian Pizza place.. I kow it sounds weird.. but it was truly amazing pizza.. Highly recommend !

Diane and I had a busy day aroudn Gabes while he was at school. Diane worked to beutify Gabes gardens and yard.. and my job was to mow the lawn… Which meant gettign the lawn mower to start for the first time.. 
A quick trip to fred meyers to get dry gas and carberator cleaner and I was able to get the thing running.. that took far longer than actually cutting the small lawn.. It really needed it.. !

When Gabe came home we met up with Gabe and Sammantha and went to a really yummy Thai place.. On the way home we decided to stop at Movie Madness.. The biggest DVD place that I know of in the whole universe.    We opted for Oppie (Openheimer) and a My Neighbor Totoro … a 1988 manga-like movie from Studio Ghibli… 

WHile in movie maddness I checked again to see if they still had the Colony on dvd.. they did !// kinda funny to find your own face in a place like this

We went home and whatched Totoro.. if you havent seen it.. check it out !   Super weird and sweet !
