This morning we saw soem of the impact of the wind storms the last few days.. check out this cool pattern that part of our firepit made in the snow !

 

Today we headed down to Longmeadow Mass to meet our newest grandniece, Vivien. Vivien is the 2nd child of our nephew Vincent and his wife Trish. They also have (almost) 4 year old Gabriel. 

We also have another new Vivien  on another side of the extended family. Becky’s brother Danny and his wife Elizabeth have a new baby Vivien as well.. We got to meet her at max and Becky’s wedding..

It was great seeing Vince, Trish,, Gabriel and VIvien. DIane’s brother Joe and  his wife Pat were also there.. so it was a little family reunion.. Super fun !

Its great  seeing Joe and Patg around their grandkids.. 

We all headed to  a nearby Reptile place to check out the snakes.. some of young Gabes favorite things !

Then home to make fresh pasta for dinner. DIane braught her new ‘Chitara’ pasta maker.. it’s so fun and easy. Gabe liked helping !

 

AFter dinner diane and I drove to our hotel. It was absolutely full of kids that were here for a basketball tournement.. THey were loud but super fun !

We got out for an early morning  morning hike.. we’re trying to get out whenever we can since we’ve gotten so little snow this season. On the way home from the trail we ran into our freinds Carol and Kim.. Carol is Dianes boot camp coach… She and kim run 10 miles a couple of times per week

The rest of today  was interesting in a very confusing way. I met with one of our financial advisors about Medicare.. I’ll be elegibal in a couple of weeks and I need to choose a plan.. Yikes.. so many choices.. and so many things to think about !…My head is still swimming

so much so that I woke up in the middle of the night.. it was a great time to go down stairs and drink a cup of tea by the fire.. t

electronics.. thats a combo I really like    In the afternoon my freind Gary and his son Oren (also my friend.. I’ve known him since he was born) came by Beta for a tour. Oren has just declared that he’s studying Mechanical Engineering at UVMN.. and wanted to see what Mech E’s do.. I gave them both a quick tour..  I was able to show him a ton of stuff… which seemed to resonate with him. 

 

it is always fun seeing how amazing this place is through  friend’s eyes !

Last nights storm was incredible.. . I think I mentioned that  last night the wind shook the house so hard  that it woke both of us up…   THe power went out several times.. as it was predicted to do.. At 3 AM our power was out, but both of our neighers were on… but then one at a time they both lost power. We woke to find the electricity on….

But many folks in the state were not that lucky.. Check out this map of power outages as of this morning.. 

 

We consider ourselves lucky !
