My friend kyle w. ( we have so many Kyles in our life now !) picked me up at 9 and took me to Beta. I got there just in time for my good friend Aaron’s surprise early birthday party.. I say just in time…because wed scheduled a fake meeting to give him his cake.. but something delayed the cake so we had to think of things to keep the meeting going.. awkward fun!
the cake. (chocolate ice cream cake ) came and we got to sing.. my freind shannon had 3d printed some really cute flexible octopuses as decorations.. very cool
It was great to celebrate aaron.. he is truly one of my favorite people ever !
I spent the morning trying to fix the remaining bugs in my demo which made me pretty grouchy… but at noon I stopped to have lunch with my friend david who’d flown up from boston in his own plane to give a talk for us.. david is an old summer camp friend of our good friend gary. He’s also a professor of aero and astro at mit, and author, and an entrepreneur. His company humatics has an amazing technology for spatial positioning.
After catching up at lunch david gave a really fantastic talk on the history of the appolo program and the history of regional air mobility. Both really resonated with our crew.
I was able to stay just till the end of davids talk, then walked over to the airport to catch my flight back to portland.. it took me only 15 min between giving david a goodbye hug and sitting at the gate for my flight.
My ffriend muhamad at the united desk flagged me down when I git to the gate and told me my flight was delayed and id probably miss my connection to portland.. he quickly rebooked me .. and I he@ded out back west
Gabe picked me up around 8.. then went back to the airport to pick upmax and becky..
We were all together again…
Though never completely.. missing you sam !
