Saturday night – home day

Very quiet day around here… First day in a week that we didn’t climb Bolton.… I did get out for a nice run Between the raindrops.

Did lots of fun technical projects this weekend .. for Gizzos handy things done . He worked on them today and sent me these pictures… Still a work in progress

I also got some computer controlled lighting for the front of the house for the holidays.

The WebCam doesn’t do them justice because it uses infrared at night. Suddenly nice and colorful

I can use our Alexa to change them up… Where they are at full brightness…

Also made some good progress on the first robot and building… Thanks to my friends Douglas and va

OK time for bed

Friday night – your welcome day

I woke up this morning thinking that today should be called “You’re welcome day”… The day after Thanksgiving. Just like we have boxing day after Christmas.

It would be a day that we are told everyone we appreciate it being tight… OK… A dumb idea I know. But I’m so relaxed from taking the week off that’s where my mind went yeah I mean like not much to report today. Finished a few projects around the house… And we did our seventh day in a row hike up Bolton.… It’s been really fun Doing the mountain that many days in a row. I’ve seen all sorts of crazy weather just in seven days. Rain, snow, sun.

Will have to stop hiking because supposedly Bolton’s opening soon… That they’re going to have to get a lot more snow to make that happen

Trying to think of what else happened today.… We did have a great zoom call with our friends Lia and Larry in Pittsburgh. It was so great catching up with them.

Then we did an online escape room thing designed by one of ‘Kyle’s families friends.… It was all math themed and pretty complicated. It was really fun

Yes that’s it for the day. Little common boring… Suits me just fine

Thursday night – thanks !

Today was the strangest Thanksgiving… But it was really sweet and nice. We did what everyone else did which was stay home and talk to our loved ones on zoom.

I do feel very grateful for the Family, friends, neighbors, coworkers…We have in our lives.… I know these are strange times… But somehow I feel Everyone is in this together we began the day with our sixth hike up Bolton… We’ve been climbing it every day this week. They had a special twist. It was the virtual turkey trot In memory of our friend Jerred Williams . Jared died in 2001… And every year since his family has done a benefit. They have a foundation called “never give up ever”… That raises money for families of kids with cancer. It’s an amazing way of remembering Jared. He was such a great kid.

Our contribution to the turkey trot was to take a picture of Jared at the top of Bolton

We spent most of the day quietly working around the house on various projects. One included upgrading our mailbox. This massive delicate transfer of some sentimental stickers on the old one

Later in the afternoon we had a zoom call With my mom and brother and sisters families. Was great seeing everybody

Around 730 Dan Carlin I took a meditation class… Then we came in and did the easiest Thanksgiving we ever had.… We took our wonderful Chinese food from single pebble out of the fridge and warmed it up in the microwave. We had a feast!

Finish the day with a meet up with her kids… It was great hanging out with them

Once again… I feel so grateful and lucky for them family and friends… Our community… Even in these tough times it’s nice to take a break and realize that

I hope everyone else is able to do the same

Wednesday night – Fake out take out

Super slow day around here which was nice. ‘Diane and I woke up around six to client Bolton in very cold and snowy weather. It was our fifth straight day going up the mountain

Tonight we did an interesting thing.… Like everyone else we’re staying home tomorrow for Thanksgiving.… Rather than cook we decided to get Chinese takeout from my favorite place… The catch was they are not open tomorrow. So we ordered a big Chinese dinner from them to be eaten tomorrow. The catch is… It would’ve smelled so good that it would been too tempting to try to eat it in the car… So I had a great idea that I would get a second takeout meal that we would eat tonight that would keep me from eating the one from tomorrow. So it was fake up takeout Japanese tonight

OK everybody… Hope you have a peaceful and quiet holiday. That’s the best we can do right now

I will say I am incredibly thankful for the Family, friends community, coworkers and all the beautiful nature around us
