Busy day, then a nice relaxing evening with Jeff and Karen. One job tonight was to bring in any of the plants we needed to save… We brought in the last tomatoes, the last of the basil, and brought in some of the passion flowers and other sensitive things like geraniums. There may be a frost tonight… They’re saying even snow. Hard to believe that last week it was 80

Flew back by redeye from a very great trip to Portland. Our friends jeff and Karin are here visiting us for a few days. Jeff and I were office mates in her sleep England in 1984-85 . Jeff and Karen live nearby and they became like big brother and sister to us. Their little girl Emily celebrates her 36th birthday today… And Geoff has his birthday as well. It’s so great reconnecting and remembering all those great stories…

Really great visit here in Portland with gabe and Sean. They have such a great apartment… And this is such a wonderful livable city. I had three very full workdays here… Very interesting to get feedback from gabe and Sean about the nature of my work. They were surprised how much business was in it versus technical… Interesting insight. I have to ponder that
Gabe and I took a nice quick run down to the river. The city is so accessible on foot.
Then we went just two doors down to a great Lebanese place. You Could never eat in all the restaurants that are here. Could never in all the restaurants that are here.
So great seeing Gabe in his new Sad… He’s going to be busy but he’s gonna learn so much. I’m really proud of her.
OK now for a long long night flight home

I worked super hard today while gabe was at school. from about 7:30 tuill about 5:30. then ran to the subaru place and picked up gabes car. fun running here except for uneven sidewalks.
Gabe got home and we went to the POKEMON poke across the street.. it is so delicious !
