Got the word this afternoon that our really good friend RJ (aka Andrew aka Rusty Junior hence RJ ) was in a very bad car wreck today. 

He’s got a bunch of broken bones,  including a fractured pelvis and femur, a punctured lung, and some other I nternal injuries. His head is ok.. and he came through surgery ok. He was able to talk to Mason ear;ier today.. 

I spoek to RJ’s brother Rusty (aka Alex)… .. who lives in Colorado. He’s coming in to town tonight. Sounds like RJ’s goign to be ok. but he’s gonna have lots of healing to do .. but looks like he’s going to be OK.

and thats w what matters most !

I’ve been skirting the flu all week.. and it finally landed. but gently.. despite massive doses of vitamin C and good nights sleeps, I woke today with a sore throat and aches…    and huge aversion to being cold.. 

and it’s cold out.. not terribly.. 6degrees F.. but cold enough to want to stay away from windows and doors. 

made staying inside working just fine.. 

feeling better now.. it feels more like a cold. hope to shake it off in my sleep

I’ve been walking by this clock above our pantry for several days.. the time always seemed wrong.   .. I promised to fix it…  but didn’t for a week.. finally I took it down tonight and found.. it was stuck..

it was fun 1, time literally stood still .. I spent 30 minutes and 1:52. . it was a nice place. 

 

I took it down, cleaned the corroded contacts in the battery container. .. and it started up again’

 

that did allow me to see tht the clock must have been built in 1996..

thts a long time for a digital clock.. all the things this clok has seen..

Couldn’t sleep last night for some reason.. diane and I were both awake at 5.. Diane pointed out the window at the setting super moon.. or is it s blue moon.. or was it an eclipse.. ? all I know that it was beautiful  !

 

• one part of our busy day was getting emergency repair on our boiler. .. The tank sprung a leak. so it was ‘red tagged’.. meaning that it could not be refilled. ..  and we were3 going to  run to of oil today..

that oil is how we heat our hot water.. and our emergency heat .. thats a big deal where we live. we have cold weather coming and its bad news if your pipes freeze 

our oil provider  dropped off an emergency tank and plumbed it in .. and voila.. we have heat and hot water again. 

ok. time for sleep !
