Woke today to the first real snow of the season.. the ground was covered for a bit.. .. The snow sparred with the sun all day alternately covering and melting.. it was pretty cool.. .

We Took our friend Sho on a long walk up at Little river.. One of our favorite walks.. We were surprised to see the only building there now boarded up..

Guess it had to happen.. the floors were pretty shaky last time we were there.. 

we showed Sho some of the old cemetarys

 

and the cool scrap that people find in the woods. It’s still amazing to think that there were about 300 folks living up here as recently at 1920.. now it feels so remote !.. It was all cleared land then.. now it’s forest again. Triumph of nature over man ?

 

there are so many seller holes.. and the signs of life.. here’s a silo foundation from one of the old farms.
