I spent several frustrating hours trying to speak to BestBuy about getting the laptop replaced that we never receives…

SO far they are saying its our fault that a laptop we’ve never even seen was stolen from their store..

I have a call with them tomorrow.. if this is not resolved.. I’d like to suggest that me and my friends take all of our business

Today we got a call back from ROn,t he store manager at BestBuy. He confirmed that someone else had come in to the store on tuesday. The guy claimed to be Gabe and even showed the online receipt with the right barcode. We don’t know if he was asked ot show ID as requested by the email.. I’m guessing he didn’t. 

Whiel the guys at BestBuy have been polite and helpful, they say there’s nothing they can do for us. Technically, the laptop was already ‘ours’.. in that it was paid for.. and the guy who picked it up did have a legit receipt…  I was / am pretty angry that BestBuy is not takign more responsibility here.. I’m going to speak to the regional manager tomorrow. If they don’t step up.. they’ve lost our business forever. 

The Bestbuy manager.  suggested we file a police report..   which we did. We  called Williston PD then documented everything about the purchase and went in to the Williston Police Station where we met with Officer Trybulski. He’s a really great guy. He’d already been in to view the security camera footage.. we got to watch it too.. pretty creepy ! They’re getting more/better images tomorrow… 

The very curious thing is how soemone got a copy of the receipt. The only thing we can figure is either its an inside job from BestBuy.. or … less liely I beleive.. gabe or my computer is compromised.. and some sort of bot mi ned the info from our email…. 

Next step is to file a claim with our  insurance.

I just realized that I didn’t blog last night.. Thats something I’ve hardly ever done.. I have a good excuse though.. it was a crazy night. We learned abotu 8Pm that the laptop we’d ordered for gabe had been stolen from the BestBuy in Williston !

I’d ordered it  last Wednesday  it to be picked up at the store. by Gabe . .. Gabe went there lats night to pick it up and learned that someone had already come in.. claimed to be him and had walked out with the  laptop !!!!

He talked to the manager at bestbuy.. he said there was nothign he could do to replace the laptop (!!!!) .. but he  offered to check put the security cameras.. 

we were stunned.. but had to wait till sunday to take the next step…

Got home last night at about 11:30 by Uber  .. so nice to  be home. Diane had already gone to bed.. but had left me a hot bath.. I jumped  into the tub.. it must have been about 11:40…. I started reading a new  ‘Funny Times’.. as I let the hot water melt away the week. next thing I k ew it was 1 AM and I was asleep in the empty tub… a little chilly .. but not that un-comfy.. somehow I’d managed to let  the Times fall  outside the tub rather than in it….  at first I was so confused.. where the heck was I.. then I started laughing. so hard. . I crawled out of the tub.. I didn’t even need to dry off.. and shuffled off to our comfy bed..

sleepy and nice smelling.. so nice to be home.
