Saturday night – floatapalooza

Exciting game… So much that I think it Made me wake up early. At 4:30 in the morning I went out to take a swim. I was excited because today floatapalooza

It’s an annual affair that our friend Michael runs to raise money for local charities. People gather in our backfield… And some in our yard… To float with 3 1/2 miles to Richmond, you can float on anything you want… We had everything from inner tubes to peacocks to Inflatable pizza slices.

The first person to come was our friend Kevy And his friends from Quebec. We met them last year. They ended up camping down here and attending our house is 150th birthday party. He such a great guy. He brought us a bunch of eggs and butter… And ended up setting his tent in our yard. It was so good seeing him again

Every year is a little different… This year there was actually a band playing while people were getting ready. They were really good. Right next to our yard

Pretty soon a ton of people started showing up. Michael’s estimate was about 600 people

Around noon people started walking to the river

There were long lines to get in. I ran up to the Bridge to get a couple of pictures from above

Bob And Amanda we’re up on the bridge watching too

Then it was time to float! Our friends John and Lauren, Duane and Laura , kyle and hunter were floating with us

About a mile and we all stopped at Pratts Field… Every year the Pratts put on a great hotdog barbecue for everyone. It’s really really great at that… And a very good time.

Then it was back to the river. He met lots of people as we floated down. Some of them gave us things like Jell-O shots

It took about 4 1/2 hours to get to Richmond. I was a little happy and a little sad to get to the Bressor’s house and the bridge

Some kids were jumping off the bridge… I was tempted but didn’t really feel like it

We eventually scramble to the side and got up and got of the buses. It had been a great float

From there it was back home. We got to say goodbye to Kevy And his friends and Michael. It had been a great event

Now we’re trying to think of ways to stay awake until a reasonable bedtime. We’re exhausted…

It’s nice to be tired sometimes

Friday night – berries

It was wonderful being home today. It was hot and clear. I worked in the tower and got a ton done. It’s so nice when I don’t have to travel.

Around mid day it got so hot that I had to go jump in the pool. From there I could see all the ripe raspberries on the cane just nearby. I think I ate half my weight in fresh berries

It’s high Summer now… And I love it

Thursday night – Lake Street dive

Dan and I just got back from a really nice concert down at the waterfront. The band was “Lake Street dive”… I’ve been listening to them on and off for a couple years. It’s not really my style of music but they’re so fun to watch. The lead singer is Rachel price is got an amazing voice. Their bass player Brigette Kearney is amazing. I don’t really know the rest of the band that well… I didn’t know much of the music but it was fun.

Nice to get some live music. We’re going to see Joe Russo on Sunday which I’m really looking forward to.

Now I’m going to go count sheep

Wednesday night – new perspective

Greetings from the other side of Cambridge. This time I am staying in a Different hotel than I’ve ever stayed in. This one is just near the science museum. It’s funny waking up on a different side of town. I ran this morning down the river but started from a completely different point. It gave me a great new perspective on this beautiful city. Here’s the view from my hotel room

And from my morning run

It’s kind of fun to see your same old world from a new Point of view every once in a while…

Nite all. Nite Sam
