Monday night – Empanadas

Freezing day today… Literally. It didn’t get above freezing until mid morning. We had a fire going and we were all bundled up in coats and hats… It doesn’t feel like late April

Tonight the three of us made empanadas… With homemade chimichurra. The perfect Warm-up meal

I don’t think I need to eat for another week :-)

Sunday night – I care a lot

Heard a very cool story on Friday… My friend Rodney M is a I’m skateboarding legend… I got to know him through a strange work Connection. He ended up starting an MIT fellowship at the media lab. We got to hang out several times which was truly fun. His girlfriend Lori is amazing… She works on movies as a hairstylist and told us about a movie that she was helping make in Boston… This is all pre-Covid. I had given her a Sam stone and she told me she was going to try to find a way of getting the same stone into the movie she was working on.… On Friday I heard from Rodney that she’s been successful. The movie is called “I care a lot”… And it’s on Netflix. Just a few minutes into the movie you see  a samstone on the desk of one of the main characters who evidently has been renamed to match the stone as “Sam”…

Lori and Rodney. .. You are doing… This is such a cool story. Thanks for getting our sam some good air time

Saturday night – drop bys

Really satisfying OK… Not much happened which is beautiful. We did some work around the yard… Help GabÉ with his taxes and then later on we actually had some of our first drop by guests since immunization. Our friends Paul and Ellen and their kids itsy And Claire came by and hang out for a while. It was so nice to be able to sit down outside… Safely… With no masks

A little bit more normal every day!

Friday night -DBNR

I woke up this morning to an email from my mom telling me that my last nights blog didn’t make sense. I had to agree with her. It was a combination of doing a quick blog as I was about to jump in the bathtub using Siri. I frequently dictate these things and never look at the results. Partially that’s laziness and partially it’s because I’m so dyslexic I don’t really know how to spell things anyway

It only took me a few seconds to correct what I was trying to say… It reminded me of the acronym DBNR. I first saw that on an letter from our doctor about the physical I once had. I asked him what DBNR meant . He told me it was “dictated but not read”… What a great concept.… I’ll try to be a little bit more careful to read what Siri thinks I mean :-)

Anyway… I’m very glad it’s Friday. I’m finding it really hard to focus on work these days…

Here’s a couple of pics from the day

Diane did a bunch of Sam stunt yesterday… It’s remarkable how quickly we run out of these

I spent some time today going through so now 300,000 pictures we have in Google… I have to curate them and label them and do a couple of other things… Vacation if I’m on like this they just can’t resist sharing

One other thing that happened today… We had our first in-house vaccinated visitor. A good friend Kevin stopped by and we got to hang out with him. It actually felt a little bit like normal

OK… thus starts the weekend
