Tuesday night – through the mill

Busy day… Manage to break out for lunch and meet my good friend Tim at his new job. It’s in the restored old Chase Mill in Winooski. It used to be a really beautiful small boutique shopping mall… Then it was taken over by my web groceries were Tim was the chief operating officer.… When my web grocery was sold the building became virtually empty. It was so weird walking through all that beautiful space all shattered on the inside. The company that Tim is now running will be moving in there and using some of that beautiful space. That’s kind of nice to know. The offices look out over the Winooski Rapids.… We took a walk along the river and up into the woods. There are trails there that I never knew about it. It was really beautiful

It was very nice hanging out with Tim… Going to try to do this More often

Monday night – unhinged

Beautiful and busy day… I’m back working in the tower now which is great. It’s still pretty cold up there

Not too much to report… I did spend some time last night uploading all the videos that paul and ‘Ellen helped us digitize. It’s really amazing we have about 60 years of family history between pictures and videos from both sides of our family. It’s so much fun to be able to scroll through them

I’ll post anything I find that’s interesting… Well… That’s gonna be hard because it’s all interesting

Speaking of scrolling through the past… I’m in the process of trying to replace and 26-year-old hinges from our kitchen… I had to send them to a hinge specialist to see if we could find me exact The kind of work does art.

That’s it for today

Sunday night – Everything but…

Today I got to replace our 26 year old kitchen sink faucet … It didn’t come out easily.. I had to cut some of the retaining nuts out.. but now we have a shiny new faucet

I know it sounds strange.. but taking out that sink was emotionally harder than I expected.. We’ve been using that sink for 26 years… sam used that sink

goodby my rusty old friend..

Saturday night – taste of summer

Super delicious day… Really nothing going on. ‘Diane and I started the day with a run up to the lower gorge. I couldn’t resist jumping in the river… It was in the 50s out so it felt pretty warm enough to be in the water. The water was still in the 40s… So he didn’t stay in long but boy is that a great way to wake up. We came back and Diane made a great breakfast of fresh popovers Devin ‘Kyle joined us that’s really a nice way to start the day. It’s been a couple of hours working on electronics project well ‘Diane worked in the garden. ‘Kyle gave me a hand pulling down the last of the storm windows

I even got to “meditate” on the trampoline which I got set up yesterday… Meditate here is a euphemism for taking a nap

Francisca brought her baby duck “Donald” over… And our neighbor Carley got to meet her

This evening we went in to meet our friends paul and Ellen to take a walk and do takeout… This is the only the third take-out meal we’ve done in the past year. We went into Burlington to a new Poké place.

I have to admit it was weird being in downtown Burlington there were so many people it was almost like normal except everybody was wearing a mask. I was actually shocked at how many people they were… Given that we haven’t been in downtown Burlington for about a year.

Burlington now has it a “high risk” for Covid… But given that we are now mostly vaccinated he didn’t feel so scary

From there we drove up to Rockledge Park and took a hike to see the end part of the sunset… Here again it felt like kind of a party… People were maintaining proper distance… They were lots of people in the woods people with small fires people with guitars… It felt like some weird vacation place

He then went back to paul and Ellen (and their dog Georgia) and a cheesecake and had a beer… outside.. It really felt almost like normal…

Let’s hear it for almost like normal!
