Do you ever have one of those days when you knew you were at just the right spot?

I drove to my meeting in Holyoke Massachusetts this morning arrive just one minute before the meeting and pouring rain and couldn’t find a parking spot until. I saw the spot Made just for the Prius I was driving

I love our Prius… And today We decided to buy another one. Maybe the sign convinced me.

Monday night – almost forgot… Lunar landing

I can’t believe that i let the whole week go without commenting on the 50 year anniversary of the moon landing. It’s amazing to me to think that that was 50 years ago. I remember watching the landing live on our big old color TV. My parents were using and Instamatic camera and trying to use the flash. I remember saying to them that you probably shouldn’t use the flash… And believe it or not the only picture that came out was the one with the flash failed.

It was such a cool moment for us growing up in Houston and knowing so much about the space center. I remember my parents used to invite the astronauts home to our house

I have to say the space program really contributed to my interest in science as it did for a zillion other kids.

We need something like that to inspire people today…

Don’t you think?

Sunday night – Mit club picnic

Today was mercifully cooler than yesterday. It was a great day for the Mit club of Vermont… (More informally known as VOMIT … Vermont’s Own MIT club) annual picnic

We had about a dozen and I have people come out to trade stories and hamburgers about their widely varied an interesting lives here in the GREEN MOUNTAIN state.

Very good to see old friends…

Also met some new six Legget friends. There’s been some really interesting insects around these last couple of days. Must be the weather

OK… Speaking of weather. I’m gonna go out and swim in it. 11 PM is the perfect time for a swim

Saturday night – fire and water

Today was a stinker… 94°… And before you say that’s not very hard you got to keep in mind that nothing in our state is air-conditioned really we knew we had to do something to keep cool. Luckily our friend Matt had planned a flotilla event… Original plan was to put in at the Waterbury dam and float back up to our house. That’s over 7 miles. Probably seven hours in slow water. We convinced everybody to put a chase car about 2/3 the way up so that we could get out there… That turned out to be a really Great idea

We started gathering at the damn picnic area around noon. Between cars shuffling and stragglers we didn’t start floating until about one. I think they were about 15 of us. Some of us were from generator some of us were from The preschool that Melissa Teachers at. It was a nice range of people

The water was nice and cool and kept the heat off of us

x

We got out of the water around 515 at the halfway part Which first 4.6 miles down river. Five of us drove down in Dave’s car to pick up the other cars.

By that time we were all pretty hungry. Most of the group stopped at our house for a cookout. That was super fun.

Tired effect six test fully did an experiment with cooking cookies on the gas grill so we didn’t have to turn on the oven and the overheated house

Around eight we headed over to chris and kims to see the fire circus. It was quite a gathering. They had aerialists even more fire spinners popcorn fresh donuts it was a bigger and better run and then when we have ever seen. It was really remarkable.

Congratulations Chris and Kim !

I had my Peter Cetera in allowed kids to push the button if they told me a joke. That was really fun.

Now ready to try to sleep. It’s very hot still and I think I’m going to sleep in the room we have with a window air-conditioner.

More tomorrow
