THe goal today was to stay as cool as possible.. We decided to go to the Elebsee that Gabe and Mya likes so much. A cold glacial lake sounded like just the right thing to beat the heat.
Gabe warned us that it could be pretty packed near the start of the trail and he was right.. but by the time we got ahlf qay throught he 2m 3 plus mile walk around the lake.. we didnt have. ton of pwopke. We foudn a great beach .. I wnet swimmign and we played ball with nova for a long tie. the water was colld. .and the air was cool and sparkly !

by the time we got off the lake, that part of the town was absolutely packed.. and it was hot again..
We did the only thingkg a nature tourist can do in a stiuation like that .. We consulted ChatGPT. and sasked for a cool place with water and not many tourists.. The oracle suggested a 40 minute or so drive north to a tiny gorge called Schleifmühlklamm that was formed around a cold stream.. the water, altritude and shade made the place deliciously cool.. and the distance made it delicosly empty 🙂 .
we climbed up through the gorge that used to be a place that mined and formed whetstones for sharpening tools. knoves, etc.. .. Lots of sool hostory around

and a great trail system with steps and bridges to explore it !

we ran into this guy, his wife and their dog.. and we traded picture taking..

at the top we started follwoing a woods road for a while until the weather started to look a little menacing.. so we headed down to the car.. and got there right before the skies plit and the rain began to fall.

we headed back to town .. achecked clothes and headed to a greek place we’d read abotu in Partenkirchen.. it was good.. the walk was even better.

WE’re really loving being on this trip.. with jsut the 2.. oops. I mand 3 of us :=)
